From the artist:
This pendant marks the first time I have brought the language of my labyrinth sculptures into a piece of jewelry. It is a female bust in the tradition of ancient Greek statuary, interrupted by staircases, doorways, and miniature figures that seem to move through it. Cast in bronze using the same processes as my large scale works, it carries all of the presence of sculpture into a form you can wear.
Each pendant has been hand finished and patinated in my studio. No two are alike. The surface records the process of making in a way that cannot be repeated, and the chain in sterling silver with a rhodium finish adds a depth and richness that echoes the raw materiality of my sculptures. The pendant arrives in a custom box inspired by a Japanese bento case with a suede lining.
