About the edition:
This open edition brings together remains of vinyl records that were cut by Hildebrandt to create his monumental installation "Blau im Gedächtnis" (2022-2026). The edition acts as a negative, revealing the stencil-like outlines of the blue vinyl fragments that compose Hildebrandt's 3,000 small artworks. The edition and its simple framing evoke the aesthetic of 1970s conceptual art—a constant stylistic source of inspiration for Hildebrandt.
The records on the artwork are from the song "Flamingo" by Anne, a German band produced by Hildebrandt's label, Grzegorzki Records.
